Data Protection Framework
How Hinzia treats agricultural data as a real asset class — with sovereignty, regional hosting, and clear retention rules at the centre.
We recognize that agricultural data is the new asset class for the rural economy. Hinzia operates under a strict data protection framework designed to comply with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act (2019) and align with GDPR principles.
1. Data Sovereignty
The farmer remains the ultimate owner of their agricultural, geographic, and financial data. Hinzia acts exclusively as a secure custodian and processor to generate the Digital Trust Score.
2. Data Localization & Hosting
All core personally identifiable information (PII) of Ugandan citizens interacts with our regional AWS Africa infrastructure to ensure low latency and strict regulatory compliance regarding data localization wherever legally mandated.
3. Data Retention
Agricultural profiles are retained actively to preserve historical trust credentials. However, upon requesting account deletion, all PII is permanently erased within 30 days, leaving only fully anonymised and aggregated geographical yield data for broader statistical analysis.
